Area Activities

Touring Yellowstone with all of the wonderful geothermal activities together with the spectacular beauty of the Grand Tetons and all of the wildlife both parks have to offer will be the highlight of your trip. We are always willing to visit with you and help you to schedule any of activities whether it is hiking or just touring in your car. Teton Park is literally right out your front door and Yellowstone is 30 miles from us. It is about a 1.5 hour drive to Old Faithful or the center part of Yellowstone near the Canyon area so you can easily make day trips into Yellowstone. Most of the activities you will be able to make reservations for once you are here with only a day or two advance notice. The one exception being if you are interested in a guided fly fishing trip I would make several weeks in advance.

Hiking

There are extensive trail systems in Yellowstone the Tetons and the Teton Wilderness area. You can take short hikes around beautiful lakes on the valley floor or you can hike to above timber line. We have a lot of day hike trail books and maps on hand that we are happy to lend you. You can also take a short walk or a long hike from your cabin into Grand Teton National Park.

Horseback Riding

A lot of our guests enjoy horseback riding while they are here. We do not offer horseback riding from the cabins. The majority of our guests ride with Yellowstone Outfitters which are located very close by. We are surrounded by Teton National Park and the Teton Wilderness Area and the rides are very beautiful.. Yellowstone Outfitters do an exceptional job and our guests always came back very satisfied. Learn more at Yellowstone Outfitters

Float Trips

A scenic float trip down the Snake River is a great way to see the beautiful views in Grand Teton National Park.. The 10 mile scenic float trip departs two or three times a day and usually takes 2.5 to 3 hours. The minimum age for children is six years with a minimum weight of 40 pounds.

There is also a sunrise trip which is an excellent way to view wildlife. For the scenic float trips we recommend Barker Ewing and Solitude Float Trips because their float trips are in Grand Teton Park..

For the adventuresome there are white water float trips that go down the Snake River canyon. You will meet the float trip operator in Jackson and they will bus you down the Snake River canyon for the white water trip and then bus you back to town.

Covered Wagon Cookouts

For a nice evening out that the whole family can participate in Grand Teton Covered Wagon Cookouts which are located near by us. You will take a horse drawn wagon to a beautiful location where a delicious rib eye streak will be served along with family entertainment.

Fishing

Our rivers and streams are very high due to the spring run off until the first part of July. In early July the smaller streams will start to get good fishing but it is usually late July and August for the best stream and river fishing. Jackson Lake is 10 miles from us and it is good fishing in June. You can fish from the shore or you can get guided trips out on to the lake.
