The amazing views from Oxbow Bend at our hotels Wyoming
Oxbow Bend is the most photographed spot in all of Grand Teton National Park. The reflection of Mount Moran in the Snake River is a sight you will never forget. It’s one of the most beautiful sights in the park, and is recognized the world over as the image of Grand Teton National Park.
Oxbow Bend is also one of the best places in the park to see wildlife. It’s not uncommon to see moose, river otters, black bears, and even an occasional grizzly bear. You can also expect to see a variety of water fowl and birds of prey. The best viewing time will be early morning, but other times of day will bring wondrous sights as well.
Cattleman’s Bridge Road is a great place from which to view Oxbow Bend and the Grand Tetons. To get there head east from Jackson Lake Junction, and just before you actually reach Oxbow Bend, there will be a gravel road off to the right. This dead-end road takes you to the Snake River. It’s less than a mile long and a perfect place to see the river, the mountains and the wildlife.
You’ll find Oxbow Bend in Grand Teton National Park just a little over a mile east of the Jackson Lake Junction on Highway 89. It’s where the Snake River gets very wide and Mount Moran can be seen reflecting in the water.
